So what's special about
Graf Josef?

"THE benchmark Grüner Veltliner”, “Excellent”, “lovely”, “approachable and gorgeous, what’s not to like?”, are just some customer descriptions for Graf Josef. Though we are delighted with the Graf ourselves, what is really special about the wine is not it’s refreshing aroma, it’s full natural spice, it’s citrusy flavour or it’s light exotic notes. No.

What’s really special about Graf Josef is that over 50% of the profit from every bottle sold is contributed to VinziRast-Mittendrin in Austria and to the St. Vincent de Paul Charity in every country to which Graf Josef is exported.

Now that's drinking pleasure for a good cause..

Was ist also das Besondere an Graf Josef?

The inspiration for Graf Josef..
 Die Inspiration für Graf Josef..

.. is Austria itself as THE centre for Classical Music, its culture, tradition and elegance personified in Johann Josef Wenzel Anton Franz Karl Graf Radetzky von Radetz (1766-1858). Known simply as “Graf Josef” to his friends, he was the most celebrated military figure of the Habsburg Monarchy and was immortalised by Johann Strauss in his world famous "Radetzky March"

TheRadetzky Marchis played as the grand finale to the New Year's Day Concert from Vienna. Broadcast from Musikverein, this concert is watched and listened to by millions across the world every year.

The Sound of Music

If your mother tongue is English and you were born before 1980 and if you were to associate anything at all with Austria, it would most probably be the film version of the musical “The Sound of Music”, Hollywood’s sugary take on the plight and flight of the Von Trapp family from their homeland in the face of the Nazi regime. No disrespect to the millions of “Sound of Music” tourists who visit the film locations in Salzburg every year, but most locals have never heard of the film, nor do the songs and music sound remotely like anything you will ever have heard in Austria.

Graf Josef Grüner Veltliner with the iconic marching figure nods to the past but reflects the vibrant cultural life and indeed wine styles found in present day Austria.

Graf Josef supports "VinziRast - Mittendrin" in Vienna..

The Bar Restaurant "Mittendrin" offers a carefully selected menu with an emphasis on high quality healthy Austrian Oriental delicacies.

No "Virtual" or "Augmented Reality" needed, Graf Josef supports the every day reality of VinziRast-Mittendrin, a charity in Vienna providing accommodation and support to those who would otherwise be homeless.

Several of the VinziRast guests and residents find regular employment there and are supported in the kitchen and in service by the Mittendrin Headchef, Shabi Jahanbekloo (in picture) and volunteers.  The restaurant's net profit benefits the St. Stephan Vinzenz Community - the holding Society for VinziRast establishments.
